Here’s a behind the scenes peek of our keynote speaker, Chris Field, being interviewed by media.

 

The busy work week ended with no power at the office resulting in a half day. I rounded out the evening at Riva Grill with these lovely ladies.

Every Friday (December-April) Riva Grill hosts Fish Taco Friday full of taco and drink  specials, music, raffle prizes and good times with friends.

Specials include fried or grilled fish tacos, signature Wet Woody (rum drink) or Corona.

By the title you know where I’m going with this.  Well let me just show you how cold it was not only Saturday but Sunday morning! brrrr….  

Of course Saturday and Sunday I braved the temps and went snowboarding. Both days I ran into a few friends at Heavenly.  I couldn’t not post a photo of the view  Yes, it was sunny and cold!

We couldn’t leave without taking a Epic Mix Photo. Our photographer suggested the pose and well we went with it.

Oh there was football  and Golden Globes too!

The countdown to our honeymoon has begun! The Mr. and I are off to sunny Playa Del Carmen  Mexico next week. Don’t worry Roxy will be in good hands, we have a friend house/dog sitting. Next week on the blog there will be a few guest posts from some lovely bloggers, so stay tune.

The Thursday after Christmas we said our goodbyes to family and made our way across Wyoming to Odgen, UT located right outside of Salt Lake City. 

We rolled into town a bit late, but enjoyed dinner at Roosters Brewing Co. and strolled through the Christmas village on Historic 25th street before heading to Matt’s casa for some wine and more good conversation.

The snow gods gifted us with even more snow the next morning! It’s true what they say about Utah snow… light and fluffy. You better believe we were happy campers. Here’s a shot from Matt’s front porch.

We packed up the car and headed to Powder Mountain for a PowDay. A short 20 minute drive. The day was spent riding deep powder in the trees. Oh and unlike Tahoe we had fresh tracks ALL day! It might be a small ski resort, but it was super fun.

After an epic day on the mountain we enjoyed a few slice’s of pizza from The Lucky Slice.  Once we finish dinner we headed to the Art House Cinema 502, a 20 seat indie theater, to watch Chasing Ice before calling it a night.

It was an extremely quick trip. I wish we could have spent more time exploring downtown Odgen. It’s lined with cute shops and probably tasty restaurants.

Saturday we were up early and on our way back to Tahoe.

Oh… we had some snow waiting for us at home too! Lucky us we have an amazing neighbor who took care of the driveway while we were away. Here’s the before and after shot off the snow we removed from our mail box.

{Warning: Between now and April there will be numerous weekend rewinds about me snowboarding. I promise to post amazing scenic shots while trying to make them interesting.}

My weekend started Thursday evening with the annual South Tahoe Chamber Wine Walk at the Heavenly Village. We walked, shopped and sipped on some wine. My girlfriend Jen even won a pair of sweet Toms, very jealous!

With Friday full of meetings I spent my evening maxing and relaxing at home. Plus I knew we would be heading up the mountain early Saturday morning to snowboard.

There are a handful of resorts to ski/ride in Tahoe, but since we bought the Epic Tahoe season pass this year we can ski/ride our little hearts out at Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood! 

I spent Saturday and Sunday at Heavenly — it’s only 5 minutes from the house. Between crazy snow making capabilities and recent snowfall they were able to open more terrain this weekend. Rumor has it more will open this week plus there’s a storm about to roll through! Two thumbs up on grooming!

Sunday was a girls day at Heavenly! My girlfriend Aimi (far left) is the executive director of the  Heavenly Ski & Snowboard Foundation so we helped out with the 4-6 year old kids a little bit too. They’re just too darn cute with their little skies and all bundled up! 

So there you have it a weekend of wine and snowboarding!
