Our 4th of July Weekend

First off, I love three day weekends and wish I had every Friday off. This past weekend was perfection — beach, bbqs, and good friends and family.

Friday morning my brother and his childhood friend joined us. We packed up the cooler and headed to the beach via bikes. The ’48 Super Cruiser even made the trek.

Ah, the beach. we spent half the day hanging out on the beach, floating in the water and laughing with friends.

After an awesome day at the beach we bbqed back at our place before heading to the firework show.

Saturday we hiked to Round Lake via Big Meadow. It’s a fairly easy hike. The pup dog had a blast running through the open meadow.

Once we arrived at Round Lake we enjoyed lunch and went for a swim. The water was perfect!

Sunday we relaxed at the house and ran a few errands. All in all I would say it was a successful weekend. Nick’s folks fly in Thursday so the next few weeks are going to be full of adventures. How did you spend 4th of July weekend?

America the Beautiful {Pinterest Edition}

I’m sure I’m not the only one thinking this, but I can’t believe it’s JULY! Raise your hand if you’re looking forward to the short week — I know I am. In celebration of America the Beautiful today is about all things Red, White and Blue.

A causal dress is prefect for any BBQ.

If you didn’t know I love milkshakes, and if I must say they make for a perfect after firework snack. This particular milkshake is layered with of strawberry, vanilla and blueberry. This one sounds good too.

4th of July has always been one my favorite holidays — good friends, family, food, sunshine and spectacular firework shows. Here are a few fun Red, White & Blue pieces for a day at the beach with friends or any backyard BBQ.

4th of July in Tahoe is probably one of the busiest times of year. So we parked our cars and hit the street via bikes to enjoyed every bit of what 4th of July in Tahoe has to offer. A few snap shots of the weekend.

San Diego in a Nutshell

After returning from Central American I spent almost a month in San Diego. While I was home I surfed, went to tons of BBQ’s, celebrated the 4th of July, played beach volleyball and saw tons of old friends and made some new ones too. I’ll let the pictures do the talking.
