Hi Michelle,

Glad to help. The Joan of Arctic boot (-25°F) will be warmer than the Conquest Carly boot (not snow rated) based on the insert options and snow rating. Since you're buying your first pair of snow boots I would suggest the Joan of Arctic or Classic Caribou (not the cutest, but -40° F snow rating). Then at the end of the season pick up another pair during all the sales :) Things to keep in mind: can you replace the insert, snow rating, tread, fit. When you try on boots take the style sock you would most often wear. I prefer a wool sock. Good luck.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Tiara

I just stumbled on your post from Pinterest. I am so happy because I needed some direction with winter boots this year. I moved up from Florida to New Hampshire last year, and suffered through winter with rain boots and one pair of non waterproof Uggs. I have been told Sorel is a great brand to invest in. I'm just unsure which pair would be best to start with. I love the look of the Conquest Carly but am unsure how warm they are. I also found 2 other pairs, Joan of Arctic Knit Boot and Glacy Explorer Boot (I got to try these on and they were so comfy!). I will be snow shoeing and snowmobiling this winter so I need something super warm and relatively low profile to fit under snow pants. Any advice would be wonderful! So glad I stumbled upon your post!

Thanks for the suggestions so far!
-Michelle
