So what made the list?

Clothes — Even though it’s the middle of winter I included a few spring/summer pieces. Girlfriend has enough winter clothes. Last summer she lived in her jelly sandals so I figured she’ll need a pair for this summer.

Books always make the list because a kid can never have too many books. Every night we have to read at least three books. Emerson always says “one more.”

Toys — We bought Emerson a kitchen for Christmas so I wanted to add a few pieces. Isn’t the coffee maker too cute? Playing to the summer theme again I included a Green Toys tool set and Little People camp set.

It’s all about keeping things simple.

OMG… my 34th birthday is next week. It honestly just snuck up on me. The hubby recently asked me what I wanted and naturally I responded with something crazy like a new couch. I know it’s a big ask and won’t happen, so I started to really give it some thought. Since there’s not much I need, I kept my list simple. Think items I would just love to have. Of course,  I would love anything from my Mother’s Day list as well.

Without further adieu….

S’well Water Bottle — just call me the water bottle hoarder One can never have too many.

Ray-Ban ‘Classic Wayfarer’ – I’m ready for a new pair and style. Polarized is the only way to go

Spiralizer – Zoodle anyone?

Watch – I love a good watch and never replaced my last one.

Loft Dress – I mean how cute is this dress? It’s perfect from the office to happy hour.

Paleo Perfected: A Revolution in Eating Well with 150 Kitchen-Tested – While the hubby doesn’t think I need another cookbook I think this would be the perfect addition!

Alo Sports Bra – I workout a lot and would welcome one to two new sports bras.

Running Skirt – It’s summer which means it’s time to ditch the leggings. As odd as it sounds I love hiking in running skirts .

Shoes – A girl can never have too many shoes. I’ve own a pair of Rainbows for 15 years and well it time to trade in my current pair. These VANS need to appear in my closet stat.

Emerson is turning one on Friday! Needless to say I’m in full planning mode. Her invitations went out a few weeks ago, but I still need to pull the rest of the party details together. We’re going with a wild one ‘woodland’ themed party.

The plan is to keep it minimal and modern. I mean she’s only turning one. Think burlap, wood rounds, fun treats and some pink and mint.

Above pretty much sums up what I’m thinking — various photos form the year. homemade cake, small bites, a cute crown or highchair banner, wild one print outs and a treat for later…. just to mention a few.

As for her outfit [because my sister is concerned] she’ll be rocking something sassy. A fur vest might even be involved. Either way I love how timeless the chambray dress and moccasins look.

Regarding her birthday gift we splurged and bought her a new carseat as her birthday/christmas gift. We’re practical parents/people. However, we’ll probably purchase a couple of new board books and contribute money to her college fund. Yes, girlfriend already as a college fund. It’s never too early to start saving!

It’s all coming together and we can’t wait to celebrate ONE year!

WORKOUT GEAR | These days I live in workout gear when I’m not in the office. These UA capri pants are a favorite of mine so I wouldn’t mind adding another into the mix. It’s summer so some new workout tanks are key. I don’t like wearing the same workout shoes everyday so it’s nice to have a few pairs. These are perfect for cross training.

SANDALS | If I could wear sandals year round I would. I’m loving this two tone sandal and think it’s  the perfect work + summer sandal. [size 7]

SUNGLASSES | Watches and sunglasses are my jam! I really would love to rock these ray-bans this summer.


BIKE TRAILER | Need + want. We ride I bikes nearly everywhere during the summer. Well, with the little miss we’ll need a way to transport her via bike. I like the idea of getting a double trailer so we can carry all our beach stuff too. Plus, this one turns into a stroller at your destination! It’s a good thing REI is having their anniversary sale.


SUNDRESS | Besides workout clothes I love sundresses and with summer upon us it’s time to update my wardrobe. This dress is perfect for backyard  bbqs or a beach vacation. I also love this and this one. [size m]


SWIMSUIT | We’ll it’s summer and mama wants a new suit. Enough said! top + bottom [size m]

NECKLACE | Tassels are all the rage right now and I’m loving this one from Stella + Dot. I think it would look pretty cute with the patagonia dress too.

The three day weekend is just days away. Can you guess the best part about it? Saturday is my birthday! The days of going out all night are long gone. I’m looking forward to spending it with friends. There will be plenty of beach, bocce, beer and bbqing.


It’s hard to believe, but I really had a hard time putting together a birthday list. The only thing I really want is my kitchen to be remodeled. Which is going down in August, but  would love for it to be done. Sign, sealed and delivered.

Until then my birthday wish list is completely random, but are all things I’m currently eying.
