All the Details About Our Trip to Maui, Hawaii

Hey, Hi, Hello. Is this thing on? Yeah remember that time we went to Maui for my sister’s wedding? You’re right it will be a year in MAY. Well, yours truly figured it was time to share details about our trip. Can you believe it? I can’t. I’m still waiting to read a recap about our Mazatlan trip few years ago. Maybe tomorrow….

Traveling with a toddler is crazy. If you can afford to bring a nanny with you, do it. This way no one has to miss out during said toddler’s 3 hour, middle of the day, nap. If your toddler has FOMO don’t even try napping at the beach, poolside, etc.

STAY:
We stayed in the sleepy town of Wailea. While my sister stayed at the Andaz, which we reaped the befits of, we decided to rent a condo a block down the street via VRBO. It was easy and affordable. I highly recommend this avenue if you have small children. We were able to rent a crib for the week making the sleeping arrangement with a toddler smooth sailing, aside for the three hour time difference.

PLAY:
We hit the beach every day from morning walks, lounging and building sand castles. Maui offers an array of activities such as blow holes, the Road to Hana, Bamboo forests, endless waterfalls, and volcanos which is also the best place to watch the sun rise.

While we weren’t able to do everything we did make it to HANA, experienced a luau and enjoyed plenty of beach time.

It wasn’t Emerson’s first beach experience, but she wasn’t too sure about.

THE ROAD TO HANA:

It’s a long twisty and narrow road, but we made it. The views and stops along the way were worth it. I’ll let the pictures do the talking.

EAT:

Everywhere! Although we took full advantage of our kitchen we made sure to enjoy all the fresh fresh we could.

Thinking about running away to get married? I suggest Maui…

Whew…. if you’re still with me YAY! I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for another vacation!

Hawaii Dreaming

Mother nature might have covered Tahoe with two feet of light fluffy snow last week, but it was nothing but sunshine this weekend! The warm sunny weather has me dreaming of summer adventures. However, before summer officially arrives we’ll be heading to Maui for a week of fun in the sun! Oh, my sister just happens to be getting married too, more on that later.

Of course, a trip to Hawaii means I’ll need a new swimsuit, beach hat, maxi, sandals, etc. While I’m on a mission to create the perfect capsule wardrobe I can’t help myself from shopping for some new vacation outfits.

Have you been to Maui? While I’ve been to Oahu, it’s our first time to Maui! I would love any tips, suggestions, etc.

Honeymoon Tips from Natasha at Schue Love

Hello! I’m Natasha from Schue Love and so excited to cover for Tiara while she is off enjoying her honeymoon in Mexico! Thinking of her while she and her husband enjoy their honeymoon, makes me reminisce back to the trip we went on…to Kauai! It was such a wonderful trip and really great to actually relax and enjoy time together as husband and wife.

I wanted to offer some tips and highlight some things we did there while hopefully inspiring a trip to the Hawaiian Islands as well! I know I could use a trip there, especially with the frigid weather both Tiara and I have been experiencing in Tahoe lately!

I definitely recommend renting a car wherever you go on your honeymoon! It will give you a chance to explore the area get away from the resort for a little while. We got to see all of Kauai during our week-long stay and I loved being able to visit other ares and restaurants outside of our hotel.

Speaking of our hotel, we stayed at the Grand Hyatt and highly recommend it! The property was gorgeous and the staff was super accommodating.

Take some fun shots! We went on the catmaran trip and loved seeing the island from the ocean.

Be sure to get some couple shots! It’s hard when it’s just the two of you, but you will get the hang of it pretty fast!

Document one week of being married by splurging and going to a nice restaurant!

Take a walk on the wild side! I am scared to death of heights but we opted to go on a helicopter tour with NO doors and it was 1,000% worth it!

We got gorgeous views like this one! Ahhh! Take me back now!
