My 5 Favorite Natural Beauty Products

Let’s be real, we’re not getting any younger. If you haven’t already it’s time to dial in your beauty regimen. Recently, I’ve been evaluating the beauty products I use and replacing not so good products with better options. I care about what I eat so why wouldn’t I can about the products I’m putting on my body.

Yeah, you’re probably thinking the all natural products don’t work, but guess what they do! You just have to find the right products for you. I’m barely scratching the surface today, but don’t expect it to stop here. My goal is to continue to share cleaner beauty products I love as I find them.

Here’s my challenge to you. Over the next month try to replace 3 to 5 beauty products with better options. Are you up to the challenge?

MY 5 FAVORITE NATURAL BEAUTY PRODUCTS

evanhealy Wild Carrot Nourishing Eye Balm c/o
All eye cream should come in stick/balm form. I seriously was hooked from the first try. It smells so good and glides right on. Knowing it’s all natural just in case I get a little in my eye gives me peace of mind. I never thought I really needed eye cream until I had a kid and started a business…. yeah you know what I’m talking about. And no I don’t use concealer. Actually I barely wear makeup!

Origins Make A Difference Plus+ Rejuvenating moisturizer
This moisturizer is meant for oily skin, but I love it because it’s super hydrating without being oily. It pulls double duty acting as a day and night cream! Yes, please. Less is more.

BeautyCounter No. 3 Balancing Facial Mask (aka Charcoal Mask)
My sister swears by their products and my mom hooked me up with the charcoal cleansing bar and mask and now I’m hooked. After a few weeks of regular use I’ve noticed my skin not only feels smoother, but looks more even-toned. I can’t wait to see the results after a few months.

Whole Foods Dry Skin Hand Cream Peony, Mint & Blackberry c/o
I have really dry hands. It’s probably from washing them a hundred times a day, living in Tahoe or from the chalk at the gym. Either way my hands need a little extra love. The hand cream not only works amazingly without leaving you feeling greasy, but it smells so good!

cocokind Lip Balm
The only lip balm you’ll ever want to buy again! It’s made with virgin coconut oil….need I say more. Honestly, I don’t even know how I stumbled across this brand but it’s amazing. Luckily when I run out I can pick up more at Whole Foods Market. cocokind offers a number of “clean” beauty products, but I’m really looking forward to picking up a MYMATCHA All-Over Moisture Stick.

Everyday Beauty Favorites

I’m not a beauty expert by any means, but I know what beauty products I like. These are just a few items currently in regular rotation. When it comes to makeup / beauty routine my rule of thumb is keep it simple.

Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash
Let me start by saying I haven’t tried an Origins product I didn’t like. Throughout college I used Origins then switched from Bliss, to Dermalogica, to Aveeno etc. Recently I noticed I needed to switch things up and decided to go back to Origins. It’s perfect for my combo skin and Tahoe climate.

Olay Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System
The budget version of the Clarisonic. I started using the facial brush last October and noticed a difference in my skin within a few weeks. Since using the brush regularly for nearly a year I’ve noticed my skin is cleaner, smoother, a more even tone, and less oily. (shhh.. the hubby even use it from time to time)

Redken Body Full Shampoo and Conditioner
This spring I finally jumped on the Redken wagon. I have fine then hair, but a lot of it The body full line doesn’t weight it down. Typically my hair gets oily fast, but not since using Redken. However, I still wash my hair everyday. Sorry there is nothing worse than a head of dirty looking hair and when you’re blonde it’s easy to notice.

Redken Body Full Volume Amplifier Thickening Lift Spray
The thickening spray adds a bit more volume and body I need. (Note: I also use a few other styling products)

Benefit Cosmetics Rockateur
I’m a big fan of bronzer. The Rockateur is a nice blend of bronzer and blush in one. It’s perfect for everyday wear from the office to running errands.

Origins lip gloss
Perfectly simple. I like an sheer natural looking lip during the day and this gloss does just that. Next to Bobbi Brown this is one of my favorite lip glosses. (Tip: makes for a great stocking stuffer — yes I went there)

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream
I don’t wear BB cream everyday, but when I do this is one that I prefer. I actually own various brands of BB cream and switch between them depending on season — yes it makes a difference. I prefer the Maybelline BB Cream during the fall/winter because it acts as a nice moisturizer as well.

Make A Difference Plus+ | Origins
Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize. If there is one thing you don’t want to skip or skimp on it’s moisturizer. You don’t have to break the bank, but you want a product that is actually working for you. The Make A Difference Plus is a nice and thick, not oily, night moisturizer. I like to think it will help postpone any wrinkles a bit longer

CoverGirl Lashblast Mascara
Over the years I feel like I’ve tried them all and this one just keeps calling my name.

I could go on about a few others products, but that will have to wait or another time. What everyday beauty products do you love and think I should try?

Beauty Favorites // Lip Balm

Since becoming pregnant I’ve noticed I go through lip balm like a crazy
woman. Like me, I’m sure you have a handful of lip balms, gloss, etc.
The favorite you lost then find months later, but already replaced it. The
one that sits on the office desk or how about the five living in
your purse. There are so many to choose form — tinted, SPF,
moisturizing, etc. With Fall upon us I figured it was a great time to
roundup a few of my favorite lip balms.

January Birchbox

Who doesn’t love testing out or reading about products! I first signed up for Birchbox back in July and have loved trying ~~new to me~~ products for only $10 a month. You my have even read my Best of Birchbox post a few months ago. Anyway, the last few boxes have been fantastic so I decided why not share the contents of my January box.

Here it is, down and dirty.

Goody list + product details

I love receiving nail polish samples, it’s a great way to test out new colors! What do you think of the Blue Lagoon color? This was my first time using a alessandro nail polish. So far so good.

Hopefully the Ojon serum will help repair/protect my ends from blowing it out everyday.

I really enjoyed the Harvey Prince Hello included in the October box so I was thrilled when there was a new scent this month. My only beef… I’m keen on the the name, Skinny Chic. The smell is so-so.

Back in October I received theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer sample, which I love, so I’m looking forward to trying their eyelid primer.

… and lastly two ~~small~~ samples of Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve face Cream. I’m 30 so I guess I need all the help I can get, right?

Best of BIRCHBOX

Earlier this summer I discovered BIRCHBOX and signed up for the waiting list. July I received my first box and have received a box every month since. October’s box was the first month I loved everything! In past months there were only a few samples I enjoyed. I even gifted some items to friends knowing I will never use them.

After four boxes here are my top five favorites:

1. Dr.Jart+ Water Fuse Beauty Balm SPF 25+

This BB has changed my life! It blends my imperfections while moisturizing and protecting it from the sun. However with the weather changing in Tahoe, I find myself using moisturizer before hand because my skin is a bit drier.

2. Twistband

Fun new approach to the old hair tie.

3. Color Club Nail polish

Yes, nail polish. It isn’t something new, but the colors I received are not something I would pick out at the store. It was a great way to try a new trendy color.

4. theBalm® cosmetics Stainiac

I use it as a lip stain and it’s perfect for everyday wear to the office.

5. Harvey Prince Hello

Stella has always been my go-to, but I love the Harvey Prince Hello this fall. This fragrance is bright and cheery with a zing of citrus mixed with flora. Call me crazy, but I smell a hint of vanilla too.
