When he asked me if I wanted to go I jumped at the chance. Who doesn&#8217;t like weddings plus it gave me an excuse to spend some time exploring the great state of\u00a0Arizona?\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family:Georgia;color:black;\">Since Nick has so many friends still living in\u00a0Arizona\u00a0he headed down a week early, leaving me to fly into\u00a0Phoenix. I flew in the day before the wedding giving us enough time to drive from\u00a0Phoenix\u00a0to Sedona, sightseeing along the way. The bachelor party was the night before which meant Nick was dragging a bit.\u00a0<span>\u00a0<\/span>As we made our way up to Sedona Nick made sure to point out various plants and share his knowledge. Before I knew it we were pulling off to see\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Montezuma_Castle_National_Monument\">Montezuma&#8217;s Castle<\/a>.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/_fwODZWlvejU\/SgDQNZgLpHI\/AAAAAAAAArQ\/tpOYwO2_Bfw\/s1600-h\/mc.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;\" src=\"https:\/\/ahappyhealthyhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/mc.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5332490887409411186\" \/>\u00a0<\/a><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family:Georgia;\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"font-style: italic; \"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\"  style=\"font-size:small;\">Montezuma&#8217;s<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family:Georgia;\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"font-style: italic; \"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\"  style=\"font-size:small;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"font-style: italic; \"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\"  style=\"font-size:small;\">Castle<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family:Georgia;\">Montezuma&#8217;s<\/span><span style=\"font-family:Georgia;\">\u00a0Castle\u00a0is a National Monument<\/span><span style=\"font-family:Georgia;\">, located outside of Camp Verde, AZ.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Camp_Verde,_Arizona\" title=\"Camp Verde, Arizona\"><span style=\"text-decoration: none; color:windowtext;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/a>It isn\u2019t really a castle, but houses built into the side of a cliff. Apparently they were built around 1400 A.D. and were occupied for nearly 300 years by the Hopi clan. As history has it no one knows where they went or why they left.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ahappyhealthyhome.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/3150_85676407065_500482065_2226523_3747677_n.jpg\" style=\"cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5332490880492632850\" \/><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family:Georgia;\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"font-style: italic;\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\"  style=\"font-size:small;\">Montezuma&#8217;s<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family:Georgia;\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"font-style: italic;\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\"  style=\"font-size:small;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"font-style: italic;\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\"  style=\"font-size:small;\">Castle (close up)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>After we were done walking around the site we were back on the road. About another hour or so we were in Sedona.
