Hello, there! I don’t know about other new mamas, but I feel like my peanut is growing so fast.<\/p>\n

You now what else is moving fast? Our kitchen remodel! Last week the temp beam was removed, electrical was installed and drywall went up! For more pictures make sure to follow along on instagram<\/a>. Oh and our third inspection is happening today. Up next paint, cabinets, countertops and flooring. So what better time than now to talk about some kitchen stuff like… my inspiration board.<\/p>\n

\nLIGHTING<\/u><\/b><\/div>\n
\nPendant Lights<\/b> | Were planning on adding pendant lights above the kitchen sink and island. I like the  metal look, but feel like the mint would add a pop of color to the gray and white tones throughout the kitchen. I’m eying something like this<\/a> and this<\/a>.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nLED Lights<\/b>| We currently have recessed lighting in a living room and added six cans to the kitchen.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nCeiling Fan<\/b> | A ceiling fan is my compormise. I’ve been on a mission to find something more modern. I love the look of a three blade. My friend recommended a few fans and although I love the look of the Haiku<\/a> we can’t afford it, but this<\/a> option from Home Depot isn’t bad. <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nAPPLIANCES<\/b> <\/u><\/div>\n
\nWe currently have white appliances and are making the switch to stainless. Last summer we bought this refrigerator<\/a> and range<\/a> and plan on ordering this dishwasher<\/a> and microwave<\/a>.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\n<\/span><\/div>\n
\nFLOORING<\/u><\/b><\/div>\n
\nWe haven’t finalized anything, but we’re leaning towards hickory<\/a>. Our contractor thinks we should go with white oak<\/a>, but we’re just not sure we want oak. Only time with tell.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nCABINETS + OTHER<\/u><\/b><\/div>\n
\nSINK<\/b> | We decided on an under mount sink and bought this<\/a> one because I liked it. <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nCABINET DOORS<\/b> | We decided to buy our doors separate from our boxes. Why? Because we’re going with Ikea. I know crazy, but we can get custom doors from Semi Handmade<\/a>. The plan as of today is to go with the paint grade DIY Shaker and paint them white. As far as the island we’re considering a charcoal gray or navy color. I should add that we decided to incorporate mostly drawers into our design. I couldn’t be happier to get rid of 1959!<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nCABINET BOXES<\/b> | As mentioned above we went with Ikea. We actually picked everything up yesterday. Wow, that was a full day. It doesn’t help that the closet Ikea is two hours from us. Time to start an assemble line to put these boxes together.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nHARDWARE<\/b> | Overall I’m going for a clean look and I love the simplicity of these<\/a> pulls.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nBACKSPLASH<\/b> | There actually isn’t that much space that will need tile, but we’ve narrowed it down to either a herringbone<\/a> design or subway tiles.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nCOUNTERTOPS<\/b> | I don’t have anything picked out at this time, but I know I don’t want granite.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
