Roxy, our German shorthaired pointer, turns 9 this year. That\u2019s 63 in dog years. That\u2019s considered an old lady. But Roxy doesn\u2019t act old. No, she\u2019ll run circles around you hiking and usually won’t stop until you tell her it\u2019s time, but when she\u2019s home she\u2019ll sleep all day unless there is a bunny in the yard that needs chasing. Dog problems?!<\/p>\n

\nSo how do we keep Roxy young, healthy and active?<\/p>\n

First, we had a kid. Emerson keeps Roxy on her toes. I\u2019m not kidding when I say they antagonize each other like siblings. Emerson loves feeding Roxy, especially treats. She\u2019ll grab a few Milo\u2019s Kitchen\u00ae Homestyle Dog Treats<\/b> from the cabinet give her one then tease her with another. YES, Emerson makes Roxy chase her before she\u2019ll hand it over. However, Roxy\u2019s smartened up and has learned how to snagged it when she not looking. Second, we try on to walk Roxy 3-4 miles at least 5 days a week. It\u2019s hard during winter months, but now that it\u2019s summer — game on!<\/p>\n

Third, a healthy diet. We eat healthily so why wouldn\u2019t we feed Roxy food\/treats that are made with real chicken, beef or duck as the #1 ingredient.
